Parker and Dru's 1st Swim Meet...

Over the weekend, Parker and Dru had their first swim meet.  It's their first time to swim competitively.  Both girls have been swimming at Nitro Swim School - Parker since the end of Kindergarten and she is now in 2nd grade - it's safe to say 2 years.  And, Dru maybe over a year - could even be a year and a half.  Who knows, my memory is shot!!  We originally put the girls in Nitro so they could learn to swim.  They passed the first phase of the swim lessons Nitro 1, and went to the 2nd phase Nitro 2 where they were taught the 4 competitive swim strokes.  They attended once a week, but never had the opportunity to utilize what they were learning.   By joining a swim team, I thought it would be a great opportunity for them to use what they learned at Nitro.

Anyway,  they started swimming  for the  Brushy Creek Marlins about three and a half weeks ago and had their first swim meet this past Saturday.  I just want to say I am  so PROUD of  Parker and Dru!  Both girls did such a great job, considering Parker had a cold, and a horrible cough. The environment was nothing like I had ever seen.  I could see how any kid could be somewhat intimidated - it was B-U-S-Y!  It was B-U-Z-Z-I-N-G!  It was full of energy, full of  excitement, and full of encouragement! Loud music, cheering crowds, smiling kids, it was an over all GREAT VIBE!  And, considering I had to wake the girls up 5am to be at the swim meet at 6am, Parker and Dru wanted to know when they could do it again!  I'd say they had a Great experience!!  Oh Yea we came in 1st Place!!  Whoo Hoo! Go Marlins!! hahahha!

Roller Skating Anyone???

I was pretty fortunate to grow up in a  diverse household surrounded by all types of music!  I can pretty much swing any direction when it comes to music.  In other words I listen to anything.  I am a total music/radio channel surfer - Yes I am that person.  Lately, on the radio I've heard three songs that remind me of my roller skating days.  It's a very retro sound, and every time I hear the songs, I just start moving.  I wanna grab my roller skates and head to the roller skating rink.  Enjoy!!!

My Weekend:

Haven't had a blog post in about a month, but that's not too surprising!!  The upcoming week is Spring Break, and I have nothing planned, well nothing but my workout, hahaha - oh and my menu!

I had a very nice weekend. What started off as almost rough weekend, ended very well!
Hung out with my family - much needed  as crazy busy as we can be.

  • Tried a new hamburger joint -Moonies - Definitely Delish!

  • Got in a long run.

  • Had dinner with really good friends.

  • Drank some wine and played dominoes, let me rephrase that "I whooped up on that ass" - my favorite mans ass, hahaha. He LOST!!

  •  Wine Conversations of life:  values, what direction we're going in, Standardized Testing, upcoming vacation, politics, religion, you name it,  it was talked about with the hubby. These are the BEST.

  • Tried taking pics of lightening on my phone.  Couldn't quite get it but it was fun!

  • Big breakfast/Lazy Sunday with the Brian and the girls.

  • Got my toes did -pedicure

  • Tried Goat Cheese for the first time.  Ha ha ha!

My Menu Plan

  • Found another use for my refrigerator!

It was an overall a Great Balanced weekend!  No Busyness, no where to be, just really laid back freed weekend.  It was relaxing! This was a much needed weekend in the Kimball household.

Now, Spring Break is here, so we're gonna  do the same thing.  We're gonna have  a very laid back, be where we want to be, go where we want to go, No schedule, No obligations, No pressured week!!  Just FREEDOM!!! I'm  looking forward to it.

Psst... Of course the only obligation I have is to my workout, hahahah... come on you should know me well enough...

So here's my workout:

Monday:        Run and Body Pump
Tuesday:        Spin to Swim
Wednesday:   Run, Body Pump, Swim
Thursday:      Double Spin or Spin to Swim
Friday:           Run and Body Pump
Saturday:       Long Run
Sunday:         NOTHING

My workout is not set in stone... Nor are each one of my activities back to back.  Some of them are but most are not!

Rock Star...

Today is the day... I fly out of Austin  to  Los Angeles, Ca.  Yep... Going back to Cali, stylin, profilin Growlin, and smilin, while in the sun. Ha ha ha. You know I had to do that.

My son, Devin, I'll call the "Rock Star". Born and raised in Southern California,  before I ripped him from his roots, and transplanted here in Hutto, TX, where he finished and graduated high school at the one and only Hutto High School.  Talk about culture shock... but he did his time, and then went back to his homeland, as I always knew he would.  I don't know if he has forgiven me for that... none the less he has his first gig, if you'd like to call it that on Saturday, Feb. 16, 2013 in North Hollywood.    I am very excited to be able to attend... very thankful to have such thoughtful friends who were gracious enough to give me a pre birthday surprise gift - a plane ticket to Los Angeles.  So I am a jet setter this weekend, a groupie... free of  suburban life, working out, diets, and day to day hustle and bustle.

Bitch-a-thon

After I dropped off the kids today, I told myself that I would go in the house and write for 5 minutes... It didn't matter what I wrote, I was just gonna write because I have not been current with my blogging for the past week or so.  This week has been all kinds of stressful.  All I've wanted to do is grab a bottle of wine, and a pack of cigarettes, drink, smoke and be merry... Not really caring about how bad it is for my body, who sees me, who finds out, or whatever anyone thought of me.   Second option was just to eat... If you didn't know, I've been on a weight loss adventure since June, I have lost between 14-17 pounds depending on the day of the week.  Neither one of them are the greatest options for me right now,  but the one I chose was eating... LMAO...  And to be quite FRANK I'd rather smoke.   I've BATTLED the urge  NOT to smoke ALL week.  There I said it... I want to SMOKE... I want to SMOKE...   I just want to escape... on a beach or a casino, with a drink, and smoke... LMAO...  Yeah that's what I wanna do... Sit in front of a slot machine, and mindlessly stick coins in the mouth of this machine. I'm joking  - KINDA!!  But what I opted for was grabbing a #11 Fish Filet sandwich value meal from McDonald's with an extra hamburger and secretly ate it, and threw the evidence in the outside trashcan!  How sad is that? Is this what my life has come to?   So here I am writing for 5 minutes straight... Here goes... LMAO...

Zooma Training Plan

Hey I have uploaded a copy of the training plan I am using for the 2013 Zooma Half Marathon. Sorry it looks kinda crappy, I scanned it in and used it as a pic. The training schedule is nothing too intense, it's just to get me through to the finish line.  I made it up using this and that, and some more of this and some more of that!!  hahaha!! So for right now, I put my running days down for M/W/F and long runs on Saturday.  I needed something concrete to go by instead of flying by the seat of my pants... which is what I've been doing for the last two weeks.   I will be switching  it up, here and there... using it loosely.

Tuesday/Thursday I will be working out with Brian, the Hubs. He wanted to start some Circuit training... lunges, squats, push ups, burpees(yuck)... This week we will probably start off with what he is calling body weight complexes... don't even ask me what the hell that is... he has this book,  he's building a program with.  I will also be doing body pump 2-3 times a week, swimming, and sprinkling in some  Spin classes/riding my bike on beautiful days-weather permitted.  Now, it does seem like a lot, but I'm not going to do all of this in one week.  Please don't think I have gone temporarily insane, Tri training  officially starts in February for the Danskin Triathlon, so what I am doing is getting my training squared away.  Putting it out there, holding myself accountable.  All of the above will be part of my training but not every week. Once mid February rolls around, I'll have more of a set schedule since I'll join the YMCA Tri Training Group.  So here I go again... And, I'll leave it at that...

Bye for now...

About Me

” All my life I had been looking for something, and everywhere I turned someone tried to tell me what it was. I accepted their answers too, though they were often in contradiction and even self-contradictory. I was naive. I was looking for myself and asking everyone except myself questions which I, and only I, could answer. It took me a long time and much painful boomeranging of my expectations to achieve a realization everyone else appears to have been born with: that I am nobody but myself.” ~Ralph Ellison
