Happy Happy New Year!

Wow!! Dude, here we are January 2013... Whoa where did 2012 go?  I just had my 40th birthday... that event was one of the highlights of 2012 for me... next month in February I will celebrate my 41st birthday!! Geez... it really blows my mind how fast the years have passed... man, it took forever to get to my 25th birthday... but from 25 years of age to 41 years of age, did someone  add nitro to my car... it's been a trippy, wild ride... we're just Zooooooooming through the years.




Originally, when I set out to blog today, I decided I was NOT going to list any New Year Resolutions or New Year Goals.  Resolutions or Goals are fine and dandy, but for me it's just another thing I have to do, another checklist, it's one more thing that confines and restricts me.  Don't get me wrong, I do love the feeling of accomplishment, the feeling of "Checking off" or "Scratching Out" the items on my list.  But, what I have realized as the years tick on by is that I don't work well under pressure. I don't function well pressured by others or self induced pressure. 
My natural instinct is to "abandon ship" or hit the "abort" button.
I did decide though to take the advice of my husband, Surprised?  Brian's advice - pick a few things and focus on perfecting them. So I have decided for the 2013 year to pick a few things out I enjoy; add some of my natural talent that gets pushed to the back of my brain; and focus, focus, focus on nurturing and cultivating these few things.  My challenge though will be to keep "ALL" the things I like to a minimum.  I won't post a list as that will just add to the pressure I'm trying to avoid.  You're just gonna have to follow my blog or follow me on Facebook to see what I'm up to this year.

• Turned 40 and got hit on by a 23 year old:  I am a fan
• Kacelin graduated from Everest Institute :  I am a fan
• First Opera Lucia w/Gina and Chris:  I am a Fan
• Made fortune cookies w/Erika:  I am a Fan
• Zooma 5k with Kylie and Shannon:  I am a fan
• Devin moved back to L.A. to pursue his dream:  though a worried mom, I am a fan
• Was able to complete push-ups, boy ones... LoL... 25 to be exact:  I am a fan
• Girl Scout Camp realized Parker is a natural athlete:  I am a fan
• Zip Lined w/Gina at Resonate Women's Retreat:  I am a Fan
• Annual Summer Vacation Port A:  I am a Fan
• Dru Started Kindergarten:  I am a Fan
• Started Subbing for Hutto ISD:  I am a Fan
• Parker Started Piano Lesson - She's a natural:   I am a Fan
• Parker and Dru started Karate:  I am a Fan
• I became a better runner:  I am a fan
• Dru became a Daisy Scout:  I am a Fan
• First Ballet Taming of the Shrew w/ Gina and Chris:  I am a Fan
• Color Me Rad 5k with Kids and the Conleys:  I am a fan
• Worked My Ass off to lose 17lbs and still going strong:  I am a Fan
• Glass Fusing at the Ceramic Lodge w/Kristin:  I am a Fan
• 2012 Austin 5 mile Turkey Trot now a Family Tradition:  I am a Fan
• Parker and Dru first mountain bikes excited to take them trail riding: I am a fan.
• Plan in motion for 2014 Disney World Vacation:  I am a Fan
• Karsten and Sabrina Blok moving and leaving the Circle of Life: though happy they are building a new beautiful house:  I am not a fan I miss my Bloks
• On waiting list for puppy:  the more I read about this dog I am a Fan
• Dinner w/Gina and Chris at Tokyo Steak House on New Years Eve: I am a fan
• Hanging with Shannon and Dean in the "Garage" on New Years Eve: I am a fan
• Auditore Family moving to Colorado:  though Happy for their new and exciting adventures, I will miss them immensely -  I am NOT a fan

I am very excited about the 2013 New year.  I can't wait to start creating memories with my family and friends.  I hope you all have a wonderful start to the 2013 New Year.
